Tony has enjoyed more than 10 years being the utility player in Boogie and the Yo-yoz. When it comes to learning a new instrument, Boogie usually turns to him to take on the task. He attributes his studies at Lawrence University to this ability, and is always looking forward to his next encounter with the unknown instrument.
Tony grew up in Davenport, Iowa, where he began his music at the early age of 8 years old. Now more than 20 years later, it is still one of his greatest passions in life. His music took a turn for him late in high school, when he discovered that it was what he wanted to pursue in college. Later in his tenure at Lawrence, Tony and his saxophone quartet boasted such prestigious awards as the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition finalist, and the WPR Chamber Music Competition champions. Though classical saxophone was what he studied, he always had a certain ardor for jazz and rock. This is what led him to pick up the guitar. Though sax will always be his primary instrument, he would like to think that he is slowly becoming a great rhythm guitar player.
Tony has new eagerness in his technical life, which has led him to pursue a degree in electrical and computer engineering technologies. He is attending ITT Technical Institute, where he is planning to graduate in 2012.
Boogie’s social interactions have led Tony to meet many new friends. There is a plethora of great musicians in northeast Wisconsin, and an even better community of music followers. He takes time from every show to make sure that there is an interaction between him and the great Boogie fans. This interaction has led to him meet his beautiful wife Steph.
Tony and Steph are avid Brewers fans; enjoy a summertime barbeque with friends, and taking walks with their 3 energetic dogs: Dee, Alonzo and Scooter.
